Week 31

31 weeks

How far along: 31 weeks as of last Sunday!

Total Weight Gain: 15 lbs.

Maternity Clothes: I’ve really been so much more comfortable in my maternity pants. I still can wear a lot of my regular shirts but here pretty soon I’ll only be able to wear a few of them. I just really don’t want to buy anything just to use for 9 more weeks. I’m probably about to try out the dresses and skirts I was given to wear to work. Yay for Spring temps!

Gender: BOY!

Movement: It feels like he’s been rolling around. Not too many super hard kicks, but lots of slow gentle movements. He did completely change position one day. That was fun to watch at feel.

Sleep: Fantastic! I’ve been comfortable and don’t wake up very often. I think I’m finally adjusted to this side only sleeping.

What I Miss: Nothing, really. All the girls at work are picking up some really cute spring clothes and I just look at them. I guess I’m looking forward to being one size again instead of going through the one day this fits and the next day it doesn’t phase.

Cravings: Lemon and Lime anything! Lemonade, lime snow cone, rainbow sherbert…. it’s all been good this week!

Best Moment This Week:  Unpacking all of our baby shower gifts! We received so many great gifts and it was fun getting to actually see/touch/play with them! We’ve unpacked everything in the nursery and have started assembling the big gifts.

My brother, SIL, and nephew gave us this swing/bouncer. Billy had a fun time putting that one together! Haha… we love it though. I still have to buy batteries for it so we haven’t gotten to hear all 10 of the songs it plays and the nature sounds and all of of that just yet, but I imagine we will know all the songs by heart before long. 🙂

Week 30

baby shower

How far along: 30 weeks as of last Sunday! (Posting a little late)

Total Weight Gain: 14 lbs.

Maternity Clothes: I bought some maternity shorts and a white shirt. Getting ready for summer!

Gender: BOY!

Movement: He’s still doing good with regular movements. There was one day that he just got in some kind of position that it felt like he was kickboxing my kidney or something out of nowhere. That startled me and hurt a little, but that was just a one time thing. It’s weird that I can feel exactly where he’s at and feel an arm or a leg moving around. I just hope he continues to be gentle with me.

Sleep: I had to add another pillow to my side of the bed for me to roll over on because I was continually waking up on my back. Now, I’m never flat and have been sleeping really good.

What I Miss: Not having random calf/foot cramps. It’s only happened maybe 3 times my whole pregnancy but I got one this week that hurt so bad. Billy was trying to get my foot to straighten out and it wouldn’t. Ouch!

Cravings: Laughing Cow Swiss Cheese

Best Moment This Week: MY BABY SHOWER! We had such a good turn out and the location couldn’t have been any better. Plenty of nice big fluffy couches and chairs to sit in so no one had to stand. I just want to say a BIG THANK YOU to my sister-in-law, cousin, and best friend who hosted it for me. We received so many great gifts that we had to send some of the boxes back in my SIL’s car because they wouldn’t fit in our SUV. We are so thankful for all the gifts for our little one and I know we will definitely use them all. I’m still receiving gifts on my doorstep from out of town friends and family members, too! Our nursery definitely doesn’t look empty anymore! I’ll make a post only about the baby shower to post more photos and gifts we received later.

Week 29

Baby's first baseball game!

Baby’s first baseball game!

How far along: 29 weeks!

Total Weight Gain: 13 lbs. I only gained half a pound this week so it evened out from last week.

Maternity Clothes: My sweet husband bought me some mint maternity jeans! He knew I wouldn’t buy them for myself so he got them as part of my birthday gift. I LOVE them!

Gender: BOY!

Movement: He’s getting stronger every day. He moves a lot during the day and sleeps at night. Well, I guess he sleeps at night because I don’t feel much then or I’m just too asleep to realize. Either way we are good.

Sleep: Still doing good! I wake up more when I have to change positions because there isn’t an easy way to roll over with a belly. I imagine sleep becoming a little more interesting the further along I get.

What I Miss: Being able to see my feet without having to lean forward or to the side. I’m really starting to get excited about getting my body back pretty soon. I love carrying this little baby and I want him to stay in as long as he needs to, but I’ll be happy not to be carrying extra weight in the heat of summer.

Cravings: I’m back to the jalapenos! Just can’t get enough. Strawberries have been my fruit of the week, too.

Best Moment This Week: Going out to celebrate my birthday on Saturday at the Frisco Rough Riders game. We had front row seats on the first base side and the weather was absolutely perfect! They won 6-0 and hit 3 home runs!

7th inning stretch!

Not bad seats! There were foul balls all around us.

For those that don’t know the Roughriders are part of the Texas Rangers organization. They played the Arkansas Travelers that are part of the LA Angels organization.

Worst Moment This Week: We took Deuce and Boo to get their shots on Saturday morning. They were not too thrilled about getting poked and I completely had a pregnant lady moment and cried about it in the car on the way home. They have never been super thrilled with getting shots but I just felt so bad for upsetting them this time around. I think it was because Boo freaked out a little when he couldn’t see me. He’s so protective of me now that I’m pregnant he doesn’t let me out of his sight. Sweet boy.

Last but not least, here are some pretties to look at! 🙂

Week 28

28 weeks

I love purple shirt day! This is currently my favorite shirt. It’s so comfortable!

How far along: 28 weeks!

Total Weight Gain: 12.5 lbs. He has definitely been having a little growth spurt. I was really close to gaining over a pound last week but this week I did for sure.

Maternity Clothes: Now that my belly is getting a little bigger I’m starting to fit a little more into some of the clothes that were given to me. I still have a pretty large trash bag full of stuff I still can’t wear though. No worries. I think the next thing I’ll be on the lookout for is some shorts. I still haven’t bought anything this entire pregnancy except a dress and a cardigan. I just don’t see the point in spending outrageous prices for clothes you will only wear maybe two months and that’s it. Especially since I’m still wearing a lot of my regular clothes.

Gender: BOY!

Movement: OH MY GOSH! This boy can move. I had about two days this week were he just wore me out with all his activity. I just wasn’t prepared for an all day soccer practice inside. He’s now back to his regular schedule but I can tell he’s gotten a lot bigger. You can look down and see my belly move so that’s a little weird but very cool at the same time.

Sleep: It’s been good but I haven’t gotten as much as I would like this last week. I stayed up a little later than than I have been, but I think I caught up on some this weekend.

What I Miss: Lying on my stomach. It just occurred to me this week how long it’s been since I last slept on my stomach. I can’t wait to just be able to lay out on the floor and roll around with the dogs and play like we used to.

Cravings: Lucky Charms and milk. Lucky Charms are delicious but milk is the weird one. I’ve never been one that likes milk or even drinks milk unless it’s chocolate milk. That only lasted for about 3 days during the middle of the week and other than that I’ve been back to normal.

Best Moment This Week: Going to the doctor and hearing his heartbeat. It never ever gets old. His heartbeat is still at 150 just like last time and my belly measured 28 cm. I feel like we’re currently going through a growth spurt so I’m curious to see the numbers next week. I’m starting to feel large! haha

House Updates:  We finally got our new couch and we LOVE it! It’s exactly what I was looking for and it’s kid proof too. Everything comes off and is washable and I mean everything. The main cover, cushion covers, and pillow covers. We thought this would be the best route to go with a new baby because I know things will get spilled. I’m just glad we didn’t already have some fancy couch that I have to constantly be worrying about. We also purchased and hung up the curtains in the living room. I’ve been searching high and low for the right color and pattern and I’m so glad I found these ikat curtains. I’ll have to take a better photo once the lighting is right and post it next week.

New couch! Fully tested and Goat approved! (she literally took a mini cat nap on each cushion)

She thinks we bought it for her. She hogs the middle seat every single day.

Baby Gifts:  We also got our first two baby gifts in the mail! SUPER EXCITING! They were from people that are unable to attend my baby shower so they ordered online and had our gifts shipped. 🙂 We love them and I can’t wait to share everything we get on here but I’m going to wait until baby showers are over to post photos. Baby stuff is so fun though! I love it!

Nursery Progress:  This weekend the weather was absolutely perfect so we got a lot done at the house. Billy finally had a chance to finish all the touch ups in the nursery. It looks great and I love the color we picked. We also painted the old antique chest of drawers that’s going in the nursery. I’ll post before and after photos on a separate post once I get it 100% complete. I just have to finish the hardware and get that put on and it will officially be done. Billy found the fabric for our curtains that my cousin is going to make fur the nursery. I’ve been searching online and it’s been a major source of frustration for me because I just couldn’t find what I wanted and if I did it wasn’t the right color, size, or price so I’m glad to finally have the curtain issue taken care of. Note: this is one more reason why I love my husband. He knows exactly what I’m wanting and always keeps and eye out and usually we end up purchasing his picks! He’s a keeper. 🙂
