Week 35, 36, and 37!

How far along: 37 weeks

Total Weight Gain: 21 lbs. (1lb per week)

Maternity Clothes: Bought a maternity swimsuit! Super exciting, I know. I really hate to buy something knowing I’m only going to be pregnant for a few more weeks, but oh well. I’m going swimming and that’s all that matters right now!

Gender: BOY!

Movement: He’s freaking my co-workers out. Haha… it’s pretty funny watching their reactions to my stomach moving during lunch. I think we’re starting to run out of room now.

Sleep: I feel like I sleep in 2-3 hour increments for the last few weeks. Getting up to pee is super fun, let me tell you.  I also have to rotate from left side to right side or I get stiff. I’m looking forward to sleeping on my stomach again!

What I Miss: My pre-pregnancy body. Not that it was super fabulous or anything, but I’m getting pretty big now (even though it’s all belly) it still makes doing things difficult. ie: painting your toenails

Cravings: Noting really. We’ve been so busy that I just make sure I get my 3 meals a day and snacks in.

Best Moment This Week(s): Getting to hang out with a friend all day one Saturday and just blow off some steam without having a list of things to do. We had lunch, saw Star Trek, made a quick trip to IKEA and the mall, and then just hung out.

We celebrated Memorial Day with my SIL’s family. We went swimming and grilled some hot dogs. The food was delicious and the water felt AMAZING! 🙂

We washed all of the baby stuff and put it away. Getting that done made Billy feel better about bringing him home and having things ready for him. We’re still adjusting to how tiny everything is. I had to buy some washing bags to put the tiny socks, mittens, and hats in to keep them from getting lost in the washing machine. I know I’ll get used to it soon, but right now it feels like I’m playing with doll clothes or something. I’m constantly having to look at the tags to see how big it is.

Nursery Updates: COMPLETE! Just waiting on a baby! 🙂

Doctor Appointments:

May 28th: My belly was 37 cm, baby’s heartbeat was 140, and they checked me for the first time for dilation. A whopping 1/2 cm!

June 4th: My belly was 36 cm, baby’s heartbeat in the 140’s and still 1/2 cm dilated. I also had the best blood pressure of the day at exactly 120/80! This is actually the highest my blood pressure has ever been.

Absolute Favorite Moment Last Week: Our nephew, Grayson, was born on June 4th! YAY! He’s so adorable and such a good baby already. We LOVE him! 🙂

Week 34

Mother's Day walking the nature trails behind our house.

Mother’s Day walking the nature trails around the lake behind our house.

How far along: 34 weeks as of Sunday, May 19th. Playing catch up!

Total Weight Gain: 18 lbs.

Maternity Clothes: I’m in a rut. I feel like I wear the same 5 shirts to work every week. I need to spice it up a little.

Gender: BOY!

Movement: Feels like there’s a big baby in there. The last few weeks I’ve mostly felt more on my right side because that’s where he likes to hang out, but now I’m getting random jabs on the left side, too. His body is still on the right, but he’s throwing an arm or leg over there on occasion and catching me off guard.

Sleep: Same as last week. Waking up 1-2 times a night and it’s getting more difficult to roll over.

What I Miss: Not having to get up to pee in the middle of the night. I’d also like to have a Dr. Pepper. It’s been a long time!

Cravings: Apples and peanut butter

Doctor’s Appointments: My belly measured at 34 cm and his heartbeat was 150 bpm. We’re just moving right along!

Best Moment This Week: Celebrating my very first Mother’s Day! It was definitely my favorite day of the week thanks to my wonderful husband. 🙂 I’ll do a separate post about Mother’s Day so I can document it separately. I do love this new holiday though!

We had the tour of labor and delivery and the postpartum wing at the hospital on Thursday. I’m glad we got to see it all and where to check in once the big day arrives. We also turned in our hospital pre-registration forms so we don’t have to do any paperwork once we go in to have the baby. I know I’ll be glad I did that later.

On Saturday we went and saw Iron Man 3 and really enjoyed it. We haven’t been to the movies in a while, and I imagine we probably won’t be going too often once the baby arrives so we are going to try and catch a few more shows in the coming weeks.

Nursery Updates: We hung the blinds in the nursery, artwork on the walls, and a shelf above the dresser. It’s all starting to come together and I’m getting super excited about all of it. We are trying to get it all done because we are at that point where we want it all in place so when he decides to come we won’t have any more items on the to-do list.

House Updates: We hung the blinds in the guest bedroom and started sorting out the wall decor items so we can start hanging a few things. I also emptied a few more boxes of random stuff and have really started getting into the nitty gritty of organization…. aka nesting. ha!

Week 33

33 weeks 2

How far along: 33 weeks as of last Sunday!

Total Weight Gain: 16.8 lbs.

Maternity Clothes: Yeah…. I’m ready to get back into regular clothes.

Gender: BOY!

Movement: Tons! And of course he gets the hiccups daily!

Sleep: I’ve started waking up every night between 2-3 to use the restroom. (Sorry, TMI) I feel like sleep is about to start getting interesting.

What I Miss: Sleeping on my stomach! I know I’ve said this before, but I’ve been having trouble staying comfortable. I feel like I have so many pillows around me to keep me on my side but I still manage to sleep on my back.

Cravings: Water! (Does that count?!) I’ve been so thirsty this week. So much so that Billy has even noticed how much more I’m consuming.

Best Moment This Week: My work baby shower! Three of my closest coworkers planned it for me and we had a really good turn out. We received a lot of great gifts and TONS of gift cards! We were finally able to purchase a lot of the necessary items we were needing that we didn’t receive at our showers. I don’t have a lot of photos of the work shower but I’ll post it when I do the baby shower post.

Week 32

32 weeks

Not that great of a picture, but it’s the only one I ended up with this week. Also: new haircut! 🙂

How far along: 32 weeks as of last Sunday! We’ve been super busy so I’m posting this really late!

Total Weight Gain: 16 lbs.

Maternity Clothes: Yep! I love maternity pants haha. Why can’t all pants have a stretchy waist band?!

Gender: BOY!

Movement: It’s insane the difference from last week to this week. He’s so much bigger now that I can feel body parts right under my skin. It’s so strange and kind of freaky to watch.

Sleep: Still sleeping well, but it would be even better if I didn’t wake up 15 minutes before my alarm clock goes off everyday. Oh well. I’ll take all that I can’t get now, right?!

What I Miss: Being able to move freely and being light on my feet. If I’m sitting on the floor going through baby stuff or whatever I might be doing, the getting up process is much slower these days. I have to make sure I have my balance before I take off. Oh, and sometimes my roll out of bed is less than graceful. Our bed it really tall so I just roll and hope for the best. haha

Cravings: Back to old faithful… jalapenos! And salsa. Really anything with a kick to it.

Best Moment This Week: Going to the doctor on Tuesday, April 30th and checking up on my little man. My belly is 32 cm and his heartbeat was 140 bpm. Still growing good and everything is normal. Listening to the heartbeat never gets old. I ended up having that entire day off of work and it was so nice to just relax. I got my haircut which was really overdue and then I got some Baskin and Robbins ice cream and took a nap. Ha! It was an amazing day!

We have been incredibly busy this week. Monday we took an infant CPR class and then Saturday we took a breastfeeding class. The hospital we are delivering at offers free classes so we are taking advantage of those while we can. We have actually learned A LOT and received a lot of useful information that we had never even heard of before. Plus a lot of questions are getting answered in these classes and I have really enjoyed going to them. We are not going to be “by the book” parents because we have our own ideas on parenting and what child is really by the book anyway? We’ve had 10 years of being together and 6 years of being married to discuss our thoughts and ideas on parenting, but the things we are learning in the classes are actual tips that we can put to use if necessary. It helps us to feel a little more “prepared” I guess you could say.

We also dropped off our artwork to be framed on Saturday. Michael’s was finally having one of their 50% off framing sales so we took advantage of that and I’m so excited about getting them up on the wall. We are getting close to being done with the nursery so I’ll post pics of it once it’s complete.
